David was born to John D. and Susie Hicks Armes (now deceased) on September 11, 1954 in Knoxville, TN, where he spent his first 36 years. A University of Tennessee grad, David devoted his life to public service in the Human Services field. He worked in Tennessee, Virginia, and for the last 18 years as an employee at Washington State DSHS. His most recent position was as Financial Program Supervisor 4 with Aging and Disability Services, Home and Community Services, where his expertise and knowledge of state policy made him an invaluable member of his unit. David was passionate about his work and gave it his very best. David is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; and his three precious children, Julian, Carey, and Charles. A celebration of his life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Olympia on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. "Promises last forever."
