PAUL , HARVEY - age 82, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was a member of Union Assembly Keith Avenue Church of God, and was an electrician and member of Local #760 for 50 years. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and was loved by all who knew him. Preceded in death by parents, Jake and Minnie Shiflet; five brothers and one sister. Survived by loving wife of 49 years, Gladys Hughes Paul; sons, Gary Paul and wife, Margie of Gainesville, Fla., and Jerry Paul of Kokomo, Ind.; sister, Sally Gifford of Kokomo, Ind.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Thursday, Mynatt's Chapel. Eulogy by Murrell Jarnigan and Rev. Paul Thomas Hughes, Rev. Ronnie Beeler, and Rev. David Simmons officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Friday and proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for an entombment service at 11 a.m. Pallbearers: Johnny and Mike Hughes, Dale, Earl Lynn, and Johnny Paul, and Billy Beeler. Honorary Pallbearers: Carl Simmons, J. C. Donahue, Horace Dyer and church friends, David Donaldson, Ray Beeler, C. U. Lyons and Ben Moyers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorials be made to the American Lung Association. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mynatt's.
