Amos J. " Bud " Loveday , age 83, New Castle resident, passed away Saturday at Ball Hospital in Muncie.
He was born Sept. 14, 1928 in Sevierville, Tenn., a son of the late Haskell and Mary Sims Loveday . He was a resident of New Castle most of his life and had served with the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II.
He was retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1995 after 48 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 371.
He loved sharing time with his family and enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing.
Left to cherish his memory include: his wife, Nora Snedigar Loveday , whom he married Nov. 4, 1949; two children; a daughter Rita Ann Alexander (husband David) of New Castle and son John Loveday of Ft. Wayne; two grandchildren, Christina Alexander of New Castle and Brent David Alexander of New Castle; two great grandchildren, Bryson and Paeton; one sister Sue Lane of White Pine, Tenn.; one brother Jack Loveday of Madison, Tenn.; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Louise Christopher and Doris Cogell, and by three brothers, Buster Loveday , Time Loveday and Newell Loveday .
Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Macer-Hall Funeral Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Macer-Hall Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Flannigan officiating.
Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.

Military Honors will be conducted by VFW. and American Legion.
