FRENCH, UNA FAY WHILLOCK - age 89, a lifetime resident of the Piedmont Community, passed away Friday, July 25, 2003, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church, and loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Kenneth C. French, infant daughter, Barbara French, father and mother, James W. and Annie Britt Whillock, brother, Ray Whillock, sisters, Tina Huffaker and Bessie Underwood. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Edgar and Yvonne French of Nicholsville, KY, Jerry and Vickie French of Dandridge daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Curtis Woods of Dandridge grandchildren, Cindy and John Cagle, Wayne and Brandi Woods, Chris and Stacy Woods, and Kelly and Chris Fitch nine precious great-grandchildren sister, Bernice Massengill of Knoxville brother-in-law, L.D. Underwood of Strawberry Plains several nieces and nephews. A special "Thank You" to all her special caregivers over the past years, and the staff and employees of Jefferson County Nursing Home for their loving care and concern. Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003 at the Piedmont Baptist Church, with Reverend James Kinser and Reverend Marshall Knight officiating. Interment will follow in the Piedmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.
