MONROE CITY -
Lelah Opal Ogle , 88, of Hannibal and formerly of the Huntington Community, died at 11:10 a.m. July 7, 1999, at Beth-Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ogle will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Garner Funeral Chapel in Monroe City. The Rev. Peggy Jeffries will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Mrs. Ogle was born Jan. 30, 1911, in Greencastle to William Franklin and Stella Pearl Stewart Dimmitt.
She was married to Olyce Clyde Ogle on June 30, 1928, in Blakesburg, Iowa. He preceded her in death Oct. 13, 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Velda Clark of Monroe City and Janice Thompson of Higbee; three sons, Bernard Ogle of Monroe City, Donald Ogle of New London and Ronnie Ogle of Hannibal; 23 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Derald Ogle ; one sister, Elvie Dimmitt; and three brothers, Oral Dimmitt, Delmar Dimmitt and Earl Dimmitt.
Mrs. Ogle attended Ringo Point School in Adair County. She attended the First Baptist Church of Palmyra. She and her husband farmed in the Huntington Community for many years before their retirement. They enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. Ogle enjoyed fishing, dancing the polka and square dancing.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Pallbearers will be Greg Ogle , Rick Hagar, Jimmy Clark, Jeff Ogle , Damon Thompson and Eric Rogers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Ogle 's grandchildren and Johnny Bill Thompson.
