July 31, 1926 - June 9, 2014 Resided in Sevierville, TN Ralph W. Newman went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday June 9, 2014 at age 87. He grew up in Jefferson County, TN but he resided in Sevierville, TN until he passed away. Ralph retired from Bushes after forty plus years of service, there he gained many friends and co-workers, after retirement he spent his time working on the farm. He loved to work and loved to see others work. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Hester Newman, brother, Frank Newman, sister, Aileen Wells, son Jimmy Newman, and special grandson-in-law, Jason Shults. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years; LaVerne Howard Newman Sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Rita Newman, David and Virginia Newman, one granddaughter; Tina Shults Miller and husband Bill; three great grandchildren, JD Shults, Delaney Shults, and Dylan Miller. Special niece and nephew Sue Baker and Curtis Wells, many other friends and family; Special thanks to Covenant Hospice Care, The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Wednesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7PM with Rev. Curtis Wells and Rev. Ben Whitted officiating. Interment 11AM Thursday in Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be; Chad Maples, Randall Wells, Bill Miller, Robert Newman, Jeff Sims, and JD Shults.
