U.S. Veteran Robert Glenn Householder, age 70, of Newport, died Friday, December 29, 2006. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Newport, and recently attended the First Church of Nazarene in Newport. He graduated from Young High School, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN., where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He served proudly as a pilot in the U. S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mae Householder and father, Robert Benjamin Householder. He is survived by is wife, Linda Householder; sons, Bobby Householder of Sevierville, Matthew Stewart of Newport; daughters, Anne Sale of Knoxville, Jennifer Andrews of Knoxville; grandchildren, Megan Hannah, Spencer and Matthew Householder of Newport, Garrett, Zachary and Hancen Sale of Knoxville; great grandson, Jadon Hannah of Newport; brothers, Richard Householder of Knoxville, Doug Householder of Richmond, VA; sister, Malissa Davis of Knoxville. The funeral services will be held 6:00 pm, Saturday, December 30, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Thompson and Rev. Dana Walker officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am, Sunday, December 31, 2006 in Union Cemetery with Charles Roberts DAV Chapter 102 conducting military rites. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Saturday prior to the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer Association.
