He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Zula Sims, and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Hodges Sims; sons and their families, Lee and wife Lisa and their children, Cara, Heather, Leah and Lindsey, and Tim, and Randy and wife Sherry and their children, Alecia, Savannah and Logan; brothers, Herman and Dave Sims; and sister, Anna Kate Julian. The family will receive friends at Highland South today from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. followed by a chapel service at 7:30 p.m. with Dr. Bobby Tucker officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Highland South Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Valley Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center, 9000 Sevierville Pike, Knoxville, TN 38920. Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
