Shelby R. Hodge, 86, passed away at his Green Cove Springs residence surrounded by his beloved family on Tuesday, March 20, 2007. He was born on October 24, 1920 to parents Charlie and Ruby Hodges in Sevierville, TN. Of the Baptist faith, he had been a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church for over 50 years. Following honorable service in The United States Navy during World War II, he owned and operated Hodge's Service Station for nearly sixty years. Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen Moody Hodge. He is survived by two children, Patricia Stevens (Robert E.) and Judy Semon (Dave); one brother, Clyde Hodges (Judy); two sisters, Wilma Watson ( Ozell ) and Ruth Larson (Henry); three grandchildren, Leah Guswiller, Shaun McCullough, and Stephanie Rush; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home on Friday, March 23, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church officiated by Reverend Joe Barrie and Reverend Mike Madaris.
