Richard Jenkins, age 52, of Cosby, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 30, 2004. He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlotte Michelle Jenkins; father, Jerl L. Jenkins; brothers, Glenn Chan and Rodney Dwayne Jenkins; and sister Geraldine Jenkins Sprouse. He is survived by his wife, Christine Jenkins of Cosby; sons, Richard Jenkins, Jr., Darrelle Jenkins both of Cosby; daughters, Amanda and Megan Jenkins of West Branch, Michigan; one step-daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Travis Coggins; three step-grandchildren, Tyler, Kristan, and Blake all of Hartford; mother, Lillie Phillips Jenkins of Cosby; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hershel and Brenda Jenkins of Parrottsville, Larry and Teala Jenkins of Denton, Ronnie and Jodi Jenkins, Randy and Angie Jenkins, and James Jenkins all of Cosby; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Jim Extine of Cosby and Dorothy and Robnette Webb of Hartford; one brother-in-law, Walter Sprouse of Hartford; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Ball officiating. Burial will be in the Phillips Cemetery.
