Houser, Georgia Louise Hicks, age 86, the devoted wife of Calvin Kermit Houser and extraordinary mother of sons, Bob; Norman (Mary); David (Linda); Brian (Regina); and daughters, Janice (Claude) Thomas and Anne (Rusty) Jackson passed away December 28, 2011 at home. She also leaves her sister, Mary Ruth Hicks Pinkston. She was a longtime member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in South Knoxville. Words could never fully express how this magnificent woman profoundly impacted those around her. She will be greatly missed by her beloved grandchildren, Cristy (Gene) Aptaker and Cara Mousa; Brett; Eric (Eydie); Brandon (Susan) and Heath (Jill) Thomas; John; Joe (Jennifer); David Michael; Matthew and Jordan Houser; Jennifer (Michael) Goldberg; Justin (Lindsey); Josh and Julianne Jackson. There are twenty cherished great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Saturday, December 31, 2011 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, with the service to follow at 12:00 noon, Dr. Claude Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial South. Pallbearers will be her loving grandsons. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to a charity of your choice.
