October 29, 1934 - July 15, 2014
Resided in Seymour, TN
Lawrence Hall Atkins (Winnie) moved to his new home to spend eternity with Jesus and people he loved on Tuesday July 15, 2014. Our hearts are heavy with our loss but we have the consolation and peace that only Jesus can give. Lawrence was born to Lester and Gladys Atkins on October 29, 1934 in Luttrell, Tennessee. He married Judy Hicks August 25, 1961. He was the father of three boys Keith, Kent and Kip. He was the sweetest papaw to Danielle, Suzanne (Kent); Kaitlin, Karson, Karlee Beth (Kip). He had an exceptional relationship with his niece, Mary Glen Cate. He was an active deacon and member of Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Lawrence served his country in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a true patriot. He always included thanks for his freedom when asked to say grace or pray. He was a kind and gentle person. He loved the boys he worked with at KUB. This was evident in the many stories, often funny, he would tell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Gladys Atkins; granddaughter, Karlee Beth Atkins; and brother, Gerald Atkins.
Lawrence is survived by Wife Judy Hicks Atkins, Sons Lawrence Keith, Kent Hall (Donna), Kip Brian (Davonne). Grandchildren – Danielle, Suzanne Atkins Jackson, Kaitlin and Karson Atkins, Great Granddaughter Lyla Kate Fay, Mother-in-law, Dorothy Hicks, Sister-in-law and husband, Glenda and Gary Jones, and Brother, Jimmy.
Pallbearers: Joseph Berrier, Edward Ingle, Mark Dixon, Jimmy Green, James Webb and Gary Jones
Honorary Pallbearers: George Blankenship, Jonathan Ledford, Nicky Hicks, Erby Bowles, Claude Minor, and Holbert Townsend
