(December 22, 1931 - July 8, 2008) U.S. Veteran Billy Wilburn Kirby, age 76, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Steamfitters Local # 102. He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Carolyn Kirby; parents, Arthur and Zella Kirby; and sisters, Violet Brown and Mary Ruth Long. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, William J. and Starr Kirby of Maryville; daughter, Donna Burchfield; 5 grandchildren; brother, Wilford Kirby; sisters, Rowena Long and Juanita Davis; special friend, Suzanne Long; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Glenn Grubb officiating. The interment will be held 10:00 AM Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
