Herron, Helen K Hickman, of Maryville passed away 6:00 pm Friday, January 19, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born February 5th, 1921 in Kodak, TN. She was the second oldest of a large family that was displaced from their farm by building of Douglas Dam. They then moved to a farm off what is now Douglas Dam Road. She was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church for over 50 years and taught several different Sunday School Classes and helped with Bible School over the years.
Preceded by parents, Paul and Mabel (McCarter) Hickman; sister, Ola; brothers, Roy, Charlie, and Ray. Husband, Grady L.(Fontana) Herron to whom she was married for almost 50 years.
Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Ann Herron of Maryville, Richard Boyd (Reb) and Kathy Herron of South Carolina. Grandchildren, Cathy, Ernest, Ricky, and Rickey. Great grandchildren, Crystal, Daylan, Emily, Ryan, Grayson, and Tina. Special friends, Kathy and Ashley Maples, Deane Raper, her “little buddy” Kendra Chapman, and Gary Clint Keller.
Special thanks to Dr. Mark Green, the staff of 4th Floor MICU and 5th Floor Joint Replacement of Blount Memorial Hospital and to the staff of Morning View Village.
She loved to watch football and was a number one fan of Peyton Manning.
She will be remembered for her love and caring for everyone she knew.
Funeral services will be 8:00 pm Monday, January 22nd, 2007 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Bill White, Rev. Clifford Debety, and Rev. Charles Murrell officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:00 pm Monday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, 982-6812
