HENDERSON, BURL FRANCIS - age 88 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 in Golden Living Center-Windwood in Clinton. He was a member of Bookwalter United Methodist Church. He retired from J.C. Penney Co. after 34 years. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by wife of 60 years, Lennie Ruth Henderson; brothers, Dallas, Winfred, Ralph, and Tommy Henderson; and sisters, Estlee Smith, Mae Coche, Lou Ella Henderson, and Beulah Huffaker. Survived by son, Rudy Henderson of Knoxville; sisters, Julie Fisher, Flora Catlett, and Imogene Ward, all of Kodak; sister-in-law, Eula Henderson; many nieces and nephews; great nephew, Alex Henderson of Knoxville. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Beech Springs Cemetery in Kodak for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. A funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. Tuesday in Stevens Chapel with Rev. Tommy Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway. Henderson's guest book is available at www.stevensmortuaryinc.com.
