December 16, 1925 - April 23, 2018
Ada Helton Allen Cooper 92, of Seymour, passed away in her home, April 23, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. She treasured her time for 30 years with her first love, Glen Allen and later found love again for 25 years with her beloved husband, Harold Cooper. She retired from Standard Knitting Mill after 40 years, then devoted her time and energy to taking care of her family always showing an example of unconditional love, kindness, a giving spirit, faithfulness, and the love of the Lord. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church, Seymour. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Hobert and Allie Helton, husbands, Glen Allen and Harold Cooper.
Ada is survived by:
Daughters and son-in-law: Glenda Johnson and husband Charles, and Karen Diane Cooper.
Granddaughters: Sondra Owenby and husband Danny, and Julia Martin
Great-granddaughter: Kara Owenby Williamson and husband Taylor
Sisters: Carolyn Thomas and Lois Ervin
Nephew: David Thomas
The family would like to thank UT Hospice physicians and nurses for their compassionate care, and the special caretakers at Freedom Assisted Living.
The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday with Funeral service to follow at 7 PM in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel Pastor Bruce Yates officiating. Family and friends will meet 1 PM Friday at Highland South Cemetery for graveside services and interment.
