She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: husband, James Fred Smith Sr; parents, John H. and Hettie Rule; six brothers; two sisters. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, James Jr. and Debi Smith of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyln and Keith Sparks of Friendsville and Kathy and Ernest Ridenour of Maryville; grandchildren, Mark Smith, David Smith, Michael Sparks, Cherie Harbison, Russell Sparks, Mike Murphy, Jeff Murphy, Kasey Potter; great-grandchildren, Sean Smith, Kaylee Smith, Marie Sparks, Michaela Sparks, Kris Harbison, Mika Murphy, Gage Murphy, Ethan Hicks; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2003, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Rodney Hardin officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
