William Russell "W.R." Williamson, 65 of Pigeon Forge, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 21, 2003. W.R. began his glorious journey to be with his Lord and the ones waiting for him at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee.
W.R. was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church of Pigeon Forge and also a minister of the gospel. He worked as a laborer on construction to support the family that meant the world to him.
Waiting for W.R. in heaven, are his parents, Rev. Clifford and Ola Tinker Williamson; sisters, Myrtle Ammons, Eva Romines and Blanche Monger.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Charlotte Trentham Williamson of Pigeon Forge; sons, Russell Lynn "Rusty" Williamson and wife Teresa of Pigeon Forge, Mark Shane Williamson and wife LaTonya of Sevierville; grandchildren, Josh, Zackary and Parker Williamson; brothers, Earl Williamson and wife Margaret of Maryville, Bobby Williamson of Seymour; sisters, Ruth Gibson and husband Ray of Maryville, Shirley Caylor and husband Glen of Wears Valley. Besides the immediate family, many relatives and a host of friends whose lives he has touched will miss W.R.
Service will be 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at the Freedom Baptist Church in Pigeon Forge with Ed Parton officiating. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24 at Valley View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 at Freedom Baptist Church.
