Donald was born in Sevierville, Tennessee and was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 917. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Thedore and Mae Helton; first wife, Annette Helton; and brother, Larry Helton. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Reba Mottern Helton; step-sons, Tim Tucker (Susan) and Tom Reid; brother, Bill King, sister, Pat Williams (Ray), Linda Parton (Ray Neal), Carolyn Brackins (Gregg Willsey); sisters-in-law, Gail Mottern and Phyllis Crisler; cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Don's memory to Sevier County Food Ministries, P.O. Box 6042, Sevierville, TN 37864. Family and friends will meet at 2 PM Sunday at Burchfiel Memorial Cemetery for graveside service and interment. Eulogies will be given by Ray Parton and Tim Tucker.
