Clifton, Laura Dell, age 75, of South Knoxville passed away, Tuesday April 3, 2012 at Hillcrest South Nursing Home. She was a charter member of Seven Islands Baptist Church. Laura was a loving wife, Mom, Nanny and Mamaw. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Elmer Ray Clifton; granddaughter, Tonia Johnson; parents, Hubert and Lola Hatcher; brother, Ricky Hatcher. Survived by: sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Janice Clifton, Dusty and Vickie Clifton; daughters and son-in-law; Debra and Benny Johnson, Robin Clifton and fiancé, Gene Bohanan, Angie and Roger Seagle; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Charlie Henderson; sisters, Ila Webb, Brenda Smith and Karen Rogers; brothers, Ed, JH, and Otha Hatcher. Grandchildren, Suzi Ellison, Jacob and Brandon Clifton, Heather and Dustin Clifton, Michael Gray and wife Jennifer, Jason Gray and fiancée Christina and Logan Seagle; great grandchildren, Preston and Peyton Ellison; special friends, Harlan and Jewel Massey, and Jerrie Sise The family would like to thank the staff of Hillcrest South and Caris Hospice for their care and compassion. Family and friends will meet at Seven Islands Cemetery at 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2012, Rev. Earl Lane officiating.
