David Joe Hatcher, of Seymour TN, age 70 went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, September 18, 2016. He was a devoted Christian and served as a deacon at Oak View Baptist Church in Walland, TN. He was a retired machinist from Robert Shaw Controls in Knoxville, TN. He was loved by many people and cherished by his family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years; Barbara Hatcher, son and daughter-in-law; Greg and Johanna Hatcher, two grandchildren; Gabe and Braden Hatcher, sister and brother-in-law; Christine and Ed Dexter, and several nieces and nephews as well as close friends; Alger King, Roy Haggard, and Dennis Hutchens. The family gives praise to God for the time they were allowed with him here on this earth and the example he set for them as the Christian head of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak View Baptist Church, 2704 Ellejoy Rd., Walland, TN 37886.
Funeral service 7 PM Tuesday at Oak View Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Huffstetler officiating. Interment 10 AM Wednesday in Oak View Cemetery.
