Tom was a graduate of Carson Newman College, a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was employed with Smoky Mountain Vending for 27 years and was currently employed by Dollywood Security with almost 10 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Donna Haggard; a special uncle, John Chambers. Survivors: Wife of 36 years: Gail Welch Haggard Daughter and son-in-law: Paula and Chris Carter Mother-in-law: Katherine Welch Sister-in-law and husband: Polly and Jack Teague Nephew and wife: James and Sharen Sanderson Niece and husband: Tempe and Larry Kelly In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church, 317 Parkway, Sevierville, Tennessee, 37862 or American Cancer Society, c/o Teri Newman, 3629 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, 37863. Funeral service 7 PM Friday at First Baptist Church, Sevierville with Dr. Randy Davis and Rev. Scott Carter officiating. A eulogy will be given by Charles Ownby. Family and friends will meet 11 AM Saturday in Alder Branch Cemetery for interment. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Dollywood Security.
