Grim, Eva Carmon – Age 81 of Sevierville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 9 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville after a courageous battle. Preceded in death by her parents James S. Carmon and Eva Mink Carmon of Knoxville, brother Jay Carmon, sisters Gladys Carmon Stallsworth, Mildred Carmon Ailor, Margaret Carmon Cate, Rebecca Carmon Wells and Doris Carmon Collins, husband of 49 years John W. Grim of Sevierville, and an infant son. Survived by sons Paul Wallace Grim of Sevierville, and John David Grim of Knoxville, Daughter-In-Law Kathy Ronck Grim, Grandchildren Sarah Elizabeth Grim and Matthew Robert Grim of Knoxville, and numerous nieces and nephews. Devoted and beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, whose infectious personality and sense of humor had her making new friends and developing relationships of hospital and nursing home doctors, nurses/staff and fellow patients to her last days. Mrs. Grim graduated from Knoxville High School in 1949 and married John W. Grim in 1958. After staying home to raise two sons into elementary school, Mrs. Grim re-entered the work force and served over 20 years in the University Of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Office in Sevier County before her retirement in 1997. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sevierville, past president of the Sevierville Lions Club and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. The family would like to thank the nursing staffs at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, NHC Farragut and NHC Holston for their compassion and care the last few months. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Sevierville First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Henry and Rev. Bobby Ely officiating.
