Greene, Jr. Oscar D. “O.D.” –age 90 of South Knoxville, passed away February 4, 2010 at NHC Highland Avenue. O.D. was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church and retired from Robertshaw with 43 years of service. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking and gardening. Preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Mae Greene; sister and brother-in-law, Anna Mary and George McNutt.
Survivors
Survivors; wife of 64 years, Grace Greene; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Carolyn Greene; granddaughter, Kelly Mainor and husband Ben; great grandson, Eli Mainor; sister, Myrtle Lee Mills; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Meador; several nieces and nephews.
Service
The funeral will be at 7:00pm Friday, February 5, 2010 in the chapel at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway with Rev. Steve Evans officiating. Family and friends will meet at Beulah United Methodist Church Cemetery at 11:00am Saturday, February 6, for graveside services. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Beulah United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Friday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beulah United Methodist Church, 907 Kimberlin Heights Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee or Interfaith Health Clinic, 315 Gill Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37917.
