He was preceded in death by his wife; Bertie Eledge Parrott; grandson, David Parrott; great granddaughter, Brittany Parrott. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII. He is survived by wife of 24 years JoAnn Parrott of Catawba,N.C., sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Deborah Parrott, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Jeffery and Linda Parrott, Newport, TN; granddaughter, Jennifer Strickland, and her husband Jeffery of Hoover, Alabama; two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Strickland and Alex Strickland of Hoover, Alabama, stepchildren Brenda and Derwin, step-grandchildren Angela, Christy, Brandon, also 2 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Friday, July 24, 2009 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mike Hensley officiating. Entombment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Manes Funeral Home. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
