Lela Jewel Wilson Bible, age 91, a resident of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Wednesday November 9, 2005 in a local health care facility.
She was the daughter of the late James and Jennie Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Bible; brother, Paul Denton Wilson; and two sisters, Wilma Wayne Wilson Smith and Trula Wilson Williams. She was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bible was a graduate of Cosby Academy and Carson Newman College. She was a former teacher in Cocke County. She married Virgil L. Bible of Jefferson, TN and they moved to Chattanooga shortly after World War II. She was a retired engineer, in the Map Department, of TVA.
She is survived by two nephews, Eugene Smith, Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Stanley Paul Williams of Tampa, FL; and six nieces, Cheryl Ann Smith Mackie of Phoenix, AR, Suzanne Smith of Johnson City, TN, Pattie Lee Smith of Nashville, TN, Peggy Jean Wilson Lane of Newport, TN, Emily Wilson Grooms of Cosby, TN, and Nancy Lynn Williams Lockman of Land O’Lakes, FL. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday November 11, 2005 in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Saturday in West View Cemetery in Jefferson City, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
