Jessie Aileen Stevens, age 81 of Seymour, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Seymour, and she was also a member of the Chilhowee Chapter 450 Order of the Eastern Star in which she was a past matron and a past grand instructor. She retired from the Tennessee School for the Deaf.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond H. Stevens, parents James and Lou Wardell, brothers Carl, Otha, and J.B. Wardell, and sisters Willie Ross and Ruth Brown.
Survivors include her:
Sons and daughters-in-law: Jim R. and Tricky Stevens, Sammy and Amy Stevens
Daughter: Pamela Martin
Grandchildren: Aaron Baker, Michael and Kimberly Baker, Jimbo Stevens, Tracy and Mackie Elliott, Chelsey and Chase Stevens, Alex Patterson
Great-grandchildren: Jared, Tyler, Hunter, and Brianna Baker, Mackie Elliott
Brother and sister-in-law: Clyde and Lela Wardell

Funeral service 7 PM Sunday in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev. W.A. Galyon officiating. The Chilhowee Chapter 450 will conduct the Order of the Eastern Star services. Interment 1 PM Monday in Boyd’s Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Sunday at Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour, 122 Peacock Court, 577-2807. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
