She was a devout Christian and a life-long member of the Baptist faith. She was retired from the Tennessee School for the Deaf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Welch; Parents, Jim and Lou Wardell; brothers, James B., Carl, and Chuck Wardell; sisters, Willie Ross, Ruth Brown, and Aileen Stevens. Survivors: Son: Ruble Welch Daughters and Sons-in-law: Carolyn and Sam McMurray, Jerri and Tom McCarter, Kay and Phil Lawson Grandchildren: Sam and Chad McMurray, Brian and Kimberly McCarter, Keith Welch, and Brandon Galyon Great Grandchildren: Haley and Hannah McMurray, Janna McMurray, Kayla Neeley, Emma and Brady McCarter, and Charles Welch Brother and Sister-in-law: Clyde and Lela Wardell Numerous nieces, nephews and special friends Funeral service 8 PM Tuesday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Rev.
