Rudolph M Beschwitz was born in Zittau, Saxony Germany, Oct. 24 1864.
He lived in Germany until sixteen years of age, when he came to America, locating in New York City. He did much traveling, being in every state of the Union except three.
He located in Ellsworth, Kansas, in 1893 and was united in marriage to Anna Droegemeier August 2, 1894. They made their home in Ellsworth county, for several years moving to Colorado in 1905, later to Canada. In 1916 he and his wife came to Utica, Kansas, where he took business with the Standard Oil Company, living there until about nine years ago when they moved to Healy, Kansas, continuing in the same business until his death.
He was a loving husband, good provider and very fond of his home and made many friends wherever he lived. He was especially fond of children making friends with them wherever he met them. He showed his love by taking Eva, when a small child, into their home and caring for her until the years of young womanhood.
His first thought was always of others. His love for home and others was so great he returned five times to Germany to visit with loved ones there.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, one brother, two sisters in Germany, and one brother in Chicago, Eva, Jim, and Jimmy Jr. Smith of Oklahoma City, nine brothers-in-law, fifty-one nieces and nephews, and a host of sorrowing neighbors and friends.
