Lane, John (J.M) Age 80, passed away unexpectedly April 3, 2007. He was of the Baptist faith. J.M. was a retired truck driver for Roadway Express. He served in Germany during World War II. He loved his wife, children, grand kids and great-grand kids, family and hundreds of friends, especially his Gap Creek Market friends. He had fond memories of his truck driving days too. He was full of stories that reflected the full and happy life he had. His death is a loss that will be hard to bear. He was preceded in death by: his brothers, Jackie, Bill, Heiskell, Horace, and sisters, Margaret Smith, Maude Fisher, and Lorene Snyder.
Survivors
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Gibson Lane; his son, John Jr.; his daughter, Anna Currence; grandchildren, Jim Currence; Johnny Lane and Jennifer Lane, children of Blenda Lane; great- grandchildren, Alexis Lane and Tyson Miller; sister, Imogene Pike and husband Clyde; brother in law, Walter Snyder; in-laws, Mary and Bill Leslie, Charlotte and Rex Williams and Kenneth and Faye Gibson; and close friend Kermit Fox.
Service
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM. Family and friends will meet at Highland South Cemetery at 11:00 AM Saturday for interment services. Pallbearers to be announced. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
