Gibson, Mr. William Cecil "Bill" passed away on January 26, 2012 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville at the age of 84. Mr. Gibson was a member and former Deacon of Valley Grove Baptist Church in Knoxville. He was a member of the Seymour Masonic Lodge and a 32 degree Mason. He proudly served his country in The United States Army in Germany during WWII. He retired after 42 year of service as General Manager for Camel Manufacturing. He enjoyed gardening and raising cattle on his farm. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Valley Grove Baptist Church with a funeral service starting at 8 p.m. with Dr. Williams Sims officiating. Graveside services will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Highland South Memorial Park in Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Horton Gibson and his parents William C. and Iva Gibson. He is survived by his son, Phil Gibson and his wife Rhonda; grandsons Phillip Ernie Gibson and his wife Amelia and William Andrew Gibson and his wife Jana; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Zadakaus and her husband Lee; 5 great grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Gibson and his wife Jo, Carl Gibson and his wife Anna Ruth, Elbert Gibson and his wife Judy, Albert Gibson and his wife Geraldine; sisters, Johnnie Webb and her husband Bobby, Mary Ellen Thomas, Charlotte Chambers, Brenda Houston, Margaret White and her husband David; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special "Thanks" to "his girls" at the dialysis clinic. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mr. Gibson's name to Valley Grove Baptist Church.
