Lela Mae Manning Gann, 85, went to be with the Lord on Saturday Jan. 28, 2006 from Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center, Kingsport, following a brief illness.
Born on June 27, 1920, Mrs Gann was a native of Sevierville, Tennessee and had lived there most of her life. She had spent the past several years in Kingsport with her daughter and family. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville.
She was the daughter of Mike and Evelyn Manning. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Thurman Gann; brothers, Link Manning, Charlie Manning, Earl Manning, Ottis Manning and an infant brother; sisters, Mary Manning, Lida Manning, and Buena Roberts
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Joel Sanders of Kingsport; granddaughter, Eliza Faith Sanders of Kingsport; brother, Rev. Bill Manning of Maryville; sister, Anah Arwood of Seymour; many nieces and nephews
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church, Sevierville, 317 Parkway, Sevierville, Tn. 37862.
Funeral service 7 PM Tuesday January 31, 2006 in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Hyder and Dr. Roc Collins officiating. Interment 11 AM Wednesday in Eden United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Larry Brown, Danny Manning, Jr., David Manning, Michael Manning, Troy Manning, and Tommy White. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Ralph Manning, Howard McMahan, and Ed White. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday at Atchley Funeral Home Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com).
