She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church on Midway Road, and a former employee of Levi Strauss and Company. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, J.C. Conner; daughter, Brenda Cruce; son, Tommy Conner and wife Julia; grandchildren, Brian Long and wife Merrie; Desiree Marcus and husband Rob, Marissa Mitchell and husband Steven, Justin Curce, and Jennifer Conner; great grandchildren, Nat Long, Devon Mitchell, Tyler Mitchell, Ethan Marcus, Tad Long, and Kohl Marcus; sister, Lydia Craig and husband Lee. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Clayton and Rev. Matt Cooke officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 AM Thursday at Bridges Funeral Home and proceed to Knob Creek Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment. Pallbearers: Steven Mitchell, Rob Marcus, Brian Long, Devon Mitchell, Nat Long, Justin Cruce and Bill Grandstaff.
