Galyon, Sr., Carl B. – of South Knoxville, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007 at his home. He was 85 years young and was born March 13, 1922. Carl was a graduate of Young High School. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving aboard the USS Yorktown from May 1943 to October 1945. Carl was the former owner and operator of Dyna-Kleen Services and was retired from Tennessee Boiler Service. He was a member of Meridian Baptist Church and of the Volunteer State Honor Guard. He was an avid gardener and antique engine restorer. Preceded in death by Roy and Ora Galyon.

Survived by wife, Catherine Galyon; son, Carl B. Galyon, Jr. and wife, Norma of San Diego, California; daughter, Sherry Weaver and husband, Fred of Dadeville, Alabama; grandchildren, Lisa Sims and husband, Mike of Anniston, Alabama, Bryan Weaver and wife, Juliet of Alpharetta, Georgia, Cherie Galyon, Trey Galyon of Austin, Texas, Brent Galyon of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Madison Sims of Anniston, Alabama, Jordan and Callie Weaver of Alpharetta, Georgia.
Service
Funeral service will be held 8:30 PM Wednesday, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home 10:00 AM Thursday and proceed to Zion Hill Cemetery in Sevier County for an 11:00 AM interment service. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Military Honors will be conducted by Volunteer State Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Meridian Baptist Church Kitchen Fund, 6513 Chapman Highway Knoxville, Tennessee 37920. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:30 PM Wednesday at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
