He was born March 23, 1946 in Sevier County. Lonnie was a hard worker, who loved his family, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was retired from the Sevier County Board of Education where he worked for 24 years in the Maintenance Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sevierville. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Shorty and Hazel Galyon; brother, A.C. Galyon; and son, Steven Galyon. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Betty DeLozier Galyon; sons, Eric Galyon and Authur Galyon of Charadon Ohio; daughters, Angela Galyon of Charadon, Ohio, Candace DeLozier, and Rachel Kinsey, both of Sevierville, TN; sisters, Liz Cogdill, Dorothy Claxton and husband Evan; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service 4 PM Sunday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Chris “Red” Beeler officiating. Interment 10 AM Monday in Zion Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 PM Sunday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
