Joel Fedric French age 71 of Kodak, TN, went home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2004 at Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center in Sevierville, TN. Joel was a veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. Joel was preceded in death by his parents, James Walter and L.E. Whitehead French; sons, Jeffery Ray and Joel Fedric French, Jr.; sister, Loura Tidwell. Survivors include his wife, Lela French of Kodak; daughter, Theda Wilson and husband David of Kodak; grandchildren, David Joel Wilson, Michael Kane Wilson, Mary Elizabeth Wilson and Aaron Sean Wilson all of Kodak; brothers, Ray French and wife Kay of Florida, James Walter French and wife Tony of Missouri. Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Leroy and Major Beth Sanders officiating. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28 in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
