GLADYS SALLY FOX RAWLINGS, of Oak Ridge, died peacefully on Friday, December 31, 2004 at Hope Hospice Home in Fort Myers, Florida, following a stroke. She had traveled to Florida to celebrate the holidays with her family in Fort Myers. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edgar Lee Rawlings, Jr., of 73 years, in September 2002. Gladys was born in Sevier County, TN on October 16, 1912 to John (Bud) and Janie Ogle Fox. She moved to Oak Ridge, TN in 1946 where both she and her husband were employed by Union Carbide until their retirements. She worked in Communications at AEC. She was also a charter member of Kern Memorial United Methodist Church, and remained an active member until her death. She celebrated life and love for her family, many friends, and Church family for 92 years. She is survived by daughter, Martha Lee Rawlings Cerra and husband, Ernie, of Fort Myers, FL, and her son, Edgar Lee Rawlings III and wife Jane of Wickford, RI, as well as four grandchildren, eight great-grand children, and six great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 8:00pm at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Mark Flynn officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday Jan, 6th, at Middle Creek Cemetery in Sevier County. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be in the form of donations to Kern Memorial United Methodist Church, 451 East TN Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN. 37830, or Middle Creek United Methodist Church, Middle Creek Road, Sevierville, TN 37862, or Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
