Rex Carroll Masoner, 77, went to be with the Lord on September 7, 2017. He was a devout Christian and a member of Northport Baptist Church for 48 years. He was also a Sunday School teacher. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie A. Masoner; daughter, Tammy Lynn Masoner; parents, Vida Lee and Bruce Masoner; brother, Billy Masoner; and son-in-law, Terry Messer. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Kevin Bennett; grandsons and family, Chris and Katie Messer, son Peyton Messer; Tony and Abby Messer, daughters Alyssa and Eden, and son Gibson Messer; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Wayne Stephenson; brother, Gary Masoner; special friend, Helen Aurelia Herndon; and several nieces, nephews, and many lifetime friends. Funeral Services will be at 7:00 pm, Saturday September 9, 2017 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kris Brady and Rev. Randy Forbes officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 pm on Saturday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral Services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Northport Baptist Church in memoriam.
