Mary George Paine, age 89 of Sevierville, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015. She was born May 16, 1925 in Sevier County. Mary George graduated from Sevier County High School and went to Knoxville Business College. As a member of First United Presbyterian Church, she taught Sunday School in the children's department for many years and was active in the women's circle. Mary George was a member of the Gatlinburg Garden Club for several years and served as secretary. She also belonged to the Civic Opera, the Dulin Gallery and the Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation where she served as secretary.
Mary George was married to E.W. "Cap" Paine who preceded her in death in 1993.
She is survived by her sister, Edith McMahan and brother-in-law Jimmy Lee; nieces, Sara Beth Medlin (Jim), Sandra Parkinson (Cecil), Glenda Vee Raney (Jimmy)
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Pigeon Forge Care and Rehab.
