TINKER, Clarence E., passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2005. Clarence was 91 years old and the widower of Emma Delle Fleming Tinker who passed away on April 17, 2004, and to whom he was married almost 69 years. He was also preceded in death by his parents, W. B. and Cordie Tinker of Sevier County, TN; his siblings; three infant grandchildren, Anthony Clay Tinker, Kevin Carter, Karen Carter, and great grandson, Josh Lynch.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Billie and Dr. Bob Lynch of Richmond, VA, Georgia and Marion Carter of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Colonel (Ret) Andy and Betty Tinker of Alcoa, TN. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dean (Jackie) Lynch, Mike (Theresa) Lynch, Dr. Dale (Shannon) Lynch, Kelly Pope, Dr. Kent (Diane) Carter, Gary (Julie) Tinker, Sahra (Trey) Ratledge, Dodie (Donny) Hornback, Matthew (Rachel) Tinker, and Andrew Tinker; great grandchildren are: Jon-Michael, Paige, Cody, Zachary and Ryan Lynch, Daniel and Rachel Pope, Colin Hornback, and R. Houston Ratledge, IV.
Mr. Tinker retired from Twin City Buick after serving his working years in automobile service jobs. He started in Gatlinburg, TN, from which he moved to Maryville with Amos and Andy Buick.
He was a member of two Maryville churches, West Maryville Baptist Church and currently Monte Vista Baptist Church. He served in many capacities of leadership, including deacon at West Maryville and usher at Monte Vista.
The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 21, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Lynch officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment service with Rev. Bob Dalton officiating.
Flowers are appreciated and accepted, but rather than house plants, the family requests that memorials be made to Monte Vista Baptist Church, 1735 Old Niles Ferry, Maryville, TN 37803.
