Randle Atchley “R.A.” Kyker, Jr., passed away at 7:40 PM Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was a life time member of Alder Branch Baptist Church. R.A. was very proud to say he was a farmer. He had a true love for the land and work that he, along with his dad and later his son and grandson Drew, did as a family. He wore many hats which included being a Mason with the Mountain Star Lodge #197, a member of the Knoxville Scottish Rite, a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and member of the Eastern Star. He served as Justice of the Peace from 1972-1974, President of the Sevier County Livestock Association, Director and Vice-President of the Sevier County Farm Bureau, and was named “Farmer of the Year”. R.A. was also a member of the United State Air Force Reserve, served as Sales Manager of Conklin Chemical Company, Director of Paratec Inc., founder of V-Tech of Houston, TX, National Manager of Body Shapers, President of Body Magic Co. and was owner of an antique business. He was also co-founder of Kyker Farm Corn Maze.
R.A. was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother ,Charles and Anna Kyker; father and mother, Randle and Willie Kyker; brother, Bill Kyker; and sister, Wanda Elder.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Wilhoite Kyker; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Jackie Kyker; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Gus Floodquist; grandchildren, Drew Kyker, Brooke Anna Kyker, and Skyler Floodquist; and nine nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Dr. Richard Grapski and his staff at Thompson Cancer Center, and the nursing staff of Fort Sanders Regional Hospital for their care and compassion.

Funeral service 11 AM Monday at Alder Branch Baptist Church with Rev. James Hutson officiating. Interment will follow in Alder Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3-6 PM Sunday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
