PF man charged with kidnapping
By: Jeff Farrell December 09, 2005
PIGEON FORGE - Police arrested a local man after he allegedly attempted to hold his ex-girlfriend prisoner, then broke into her mother's home after she fled there when she escaped.
Bobby Ray Davis, 29, of 715 Henderson Chapel Road, now faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated domestic assault, assault and aggravated burglary.
The alleged incidents began at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, when he grabbed Rebecca Perry as she tried to leave his home in her car.
According to warrants signed by Perry, Davis dragged her inside and made her sit down, then "continuously told her she would never leave even if he had to quit work and stay with her."
He allegedly assaulted her in the process, throwing her into a wall inside his home. According to the warrants, Perry eventually convinced him to go somewhere with her in the car, then drove off when Davis got out before she did.
According to warrants signed by Marlene Dockery, 68, of 352 County Line Road in Dandridge, Davis came to her home looking for Perry at about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Dockery allegedly told him to leave, then tried to stop him from advancing in her home, but he shoved the 68-year-old woman out of the way. "Further action was interrupted by a third party," according to the warrant.
After his arrest, Davis was taken to Sevier County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond. Dockery and Perry declined to comment on the story.
