CAUGHORN, ALMO RUTH - 87, of Sevierville, went home to join her family members who were waiting for her. She began her journey at the Jefferson County Nursing Home in Dandridge. She was a member of the Burchfield Methodist Church. On January 23, 1917 Almo was born in Sevier County to the late Brownlow and Minnie Batson Dockery. Besides her parents, Almo's husband Dawes Charles Caughorn brother, Ponder Dockery sisters, Mell Dockery and Tina Hill were waiting for the homecoming of Almo. Leaving behind to mourn her passing, but celebrating her homecoming and life are: her sons, Bobby and Ricky Caughorn of Sevierville sisters, Emma Chesteen of Morristown, and Arizona Hance of Dandridge. Besides the immediate family, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends will miss Almo. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Christie Workman, LPN, Glenda Cornett, LPN, Alice McCamey, CNA and the entire staff at Jefferson County Nursing Home for the love and going beyond the call of duty while they were caring for Almo. Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at Burchfield Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Burchfield Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, May 10 at Rawlings Funeral Home. Condolences may be conveyed to the family through our website. www.rawlingsfuneralhome.
