Frances Carpenter Dockery , 69, of Hames Street, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She had been in declining health 1 1/2 years. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Larry Peterson. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Dockery was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Davidson County to Jody Glenn Carpenter and Hazel Hodges Carpenter . She was a retired employee of PPG. Her husband, J.C. Dockery , died in 1964. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Cody. Surviving are two daughters, Belinda Comer and Pam Flynn, both of Lexington; three grandchildren; and a sister, Candis Joyner of Lexington.
