William Eugene Curtis, 49, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011, at the family home. William was a very devoted Christian and family man who loved God and his family very much. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Homer and Ora Belle Clabo Curtis; brothers, Oscar, Mike, Tommy, Jimmie and Bobby; sister, Margaret Curtis; nephew, Nathan Curtis. He is survived by his brothers and sister-in-law, Danny and Donna Curtis, and Charles Curtis of Maryville, Rick and Debbie Curtis of Oak Island, N.C.; sisters and brother-in-law, Shelia and Robin Lane, Debbie Copeland, all of Maryville, Evelyn Cummings, of Greenback; sister-in-law, Ruth Curtis of Maryville; special friends, Rev. Harold and El Donna Ray. The family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for graveside funeral service with Rev. Harold Ray officiating. Friends may call at their convenience at the funeral home 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville is in charge of arrangements.
