Mrs. Patricia Ann McMillan, age 66, of Newport, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 16, 2003, at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital of Knoxville. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Newport where she was active in many church functions. She also taught Sunday School classes at First Baptist, beginning in the nursery and ending with the Sowers Friendship Class. Mrs. McMillan served as den mother for Cub Scout Troop 298. She was a co-owner of Suggs Jewelers from 1977 through 1994. Mrs. McMillan was preceded in death by her son, Robert Keith McMillan; parents, Ephram and Margaret Riley; brother, Joe Riley Webb; and sister, Sherry Davis. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, S.E. (Bud) McMillan, of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Mike E. and Lisa McMillan, of Newport, and Samir and Jennifer McMillan, of Knoxville; granddaughters, Brooke McMillan, of Newport and Regan McMillan, of Knoxville; brother, Reece Balch, of Newport; and sister-in-law, Betty Webb, of White Pine. Additional survivors include nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2003, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel with Dr. Charlie Boggan and Dr. Rich Lloyd officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning at Union Cemetery for the 11 a.m. interment service. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service.
