Clyde Albert Pressley, age 75, of Seymour, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Member of Zion Hill Baptist Church for 45 years where he faithfully served as Sunday School Superintendant for 25 of those years. Retired from Overnight Transportation Co. with 33 years as a truck driver. Clyde’s passion for life was first and foremost his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his family and friends. The apple of his eyes were his 3 beautiful grandchildren who lit up his life with their laughter and smiles. He will be remembered most for his compassion, constant smile and making the most out of every situation. He was always a positive man. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Flossie Pressley. Sister, Betty Lowe. Mother-in-law and father-in-law, Hubert and Jewell Cutshaw.
Survived by loving wife of 42 years, Brenda C. Pressley; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Cherish Pressley; daughter and son-in-law, Leslea and Marty Wood; grandchildren, Trey Ogle and Peyton and India Pressley; brothers, Glen and wife Charlotte Pressley and Kenneth and wife Pat Pressley; sister, Dorothy Cavins; several nieces and nephews; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Deloris Davis; special cousin, Carl Brown and special friend, Ronnie Summers.
Funeral service 8 p.m. Friday, Mynatt’s Fountain City Chapel, Rev. Floyd Powell, Rev. W.A. Galyon officiating. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt’s by 12:45 p.m. Saturday and proceed to Knob Creek Cemetery for graveside service. Pallbearers: Todd and Rod Davis, Mike and Marc Pressley, Ken Pressley and Ronnie Summers. Honorary pallbearers: Doug Cobble, Jack Payne, Woody Hutson, and deacons of Zion Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at Mynatt’s Fountain City Chapel.
