August 22, 1925 - September 10, 2014 Messer, Mary Ellen Cusick- age 89, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2014. Mary was a member of South Knoxville Baptist Church and a 1944 graduate of Young High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Messer; son, Randy; parents, Elmer and Mayme DeLozier Cusick; sister, Eleanor "Toots" Rogers; and brother, Ben Cusick. She is survived by son, Terry Messer; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Mike Maples; grandson, Mark Maples; and great-grandson, Michael Maples. The family would like to thank the staffs of Williamsburg Villas and Beverly Park Place for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Highway. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 12:00pm at Woodlawn Cemetery with Dr. Glenn Sullivan officiating.
