Effie Mae McCarter, age 85, passed away, Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Baptist Convalescent Center of Cocke County. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie McCarter; and daughter, Joan Marie McCarter. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Lowell and Peggy McCarter, Dallas and Bobbie McCarter; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and special friend Aileen Williamson. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Haney officiating. Burial will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 9, 2006 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
