Gertrude L. Sharpe, age 98, of Morristown, TN went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2012. She was a long time member of McCampbell Chapel United Methodist Church in Jefferson County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jayne L. Sharp; son, Fred Sharp; father, Isaac Loy; mother, Maggie Ellis; brother, Ralph Loy; sisters, Lucille Grubbs, Blanche Whittaker and Virginia Russell. Survivors include son, Leon (Sonny) Sharp and wife Sue; grandson, Brad Sharp and wife Sandi; great granddaughter, Christina Walton; great grandson, Matthew Sharp and great-great-granddaughter, Abby Walton; sister, Janette Young and husband Jack; special nephews, Bill Wilson, Chris Caldwell and Jeff Caldwell; special nieces, Jennifer Black and Cindy Richard; special friend, Beverly Elston; numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2012 at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge with Rev. Scott Greene officiating. Graveside interment service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at McCampbell Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
